The short version of how Chart Echo works, what it costs, and what it is - and isn’t.
What is Chart Echo?
Chart Echo is a chart-first web app that finds visually similar historical chart patterns - “fractals” - across stocks and crypto. It overlays past matches on your current chart and shows how they continued afterward, so you can study real historical precedent before you decide.
How does the pattern matching actually work?
You frame a window of recent candles as “the pattern.” Chart Echo turns that shape into a numeric fingerprint and searches a large index of historical windows (roughly 450 million across stocks and crypto) for the closest matches using vector similarity. Each match keeps its own future, so we can show how setups like yours resolved.
Why did my search return fewer matches than I expected?
Because we will not pad the list with weak matches. A search starts from a large pool of nearest neighbours, then re-ranks them on how closely they actually resemble your window - overall shape, the geometry of each candle, where the turning points fall, and time-warped alignment - not just raw vector distance. Candidates that do not clear that quality bar, or that lack a full continuation window to measure an outcome from, are dropped. For stocks we also keep results within a defined, liquid universe rather than surfacing thin or leveraged tickers. The result is that some setups return a handful of genuinely similar matches instead of a fixed 25. We would rather show you five patterns that truly look like your chart than 25 where 20 of them resemble nothing you framed - a long list of poor matches would only dilute the outcome statistics and mislead you.
Which markets and timeframes does it cover?
Stocks and crypto, across multiple timeframes. The daily timeframe is free; intraday timeframes (4h, 2h, 1h, 15m) are a Premium feature.
Is Chart Echo free?
Yes - you can search and inspect charts and run daily-timeframe historical pattern matching without an account, free of charge. Creating an account lets you save workspaces. Premium unlocks Pro Mode - the full classic advanced workspace - plus saved-setup reminders, intraday timeframes, live pattern alerts, watermark-free multi-style Story GIF exports, and an ad-free experience.
How much does Premium cost?
Premium has monthly and yearly billing. The current prices are shown on the Pricing page and confirmed in Stripe Checkout before purchase. You can cancel any time.
Does Chart Echo use AI?
No - Chart Echo does not rely on AI models to generate its chart matches or projections. That means we are not forced to raise prices just because AI models get more expensive. You can still share your charts with your favourite AI, along with the extra context Chart Echo provides to support your own decision making.
What makes Chart Echo different from other charting and pattern tools?
It focuses on one job and keeps it simple: find historical patterns that look like your current setup and show how they played out. Traditional platforms typically need indicators, scanners, scripts, or custom pattern models configured before you get an answer. Chart Echo needs no setup - pick a ticker and get the closest historical matches with outcome statistics.
What are “outcome statistics”?
For every historical match we look at what happened over its continuation window (usually the next ~60 candles). Aggregated across all matches you get a confidence score, a directional split (how many rose, fell, or went flat), the average and median move, the typical maximum gain and drawdown, and a projected continuation cone.
Is Chart Echo financial advice?
No. Chart Echo surfaces historical chart precedent and projections for research and education only. It is not financial advice, and historical precedent is not a prediction of future prices.
